Khari Bulbul visual identity

Recognizing the need for a refresh, I undertook an update of the Khari Bulbul symbol originally created during my tenure at the Presidential Administration. It has been widely used without any official usage guidelines.

The Khari Bulbul is a flower native to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, especially Shusha, and is considered a symbol of Azerbaijan, Karabakh, and Shusha. The Khari Bulbul lapel pin was created to honor the Martyrs of the Second Karabakh War.

Objective

The primary objective of the project was to highlight the natural beauty and authenticity of the Khari Bulbul flower while avoiding abstraction. The aim was to create a distinctive symbol that complements a variety of outfits. Since the lapel pin was designed for a large audience, it had to be easily recognizable across different media.

Approach

To achieve this, a color palette inspired by nature was chosen to enhance the Khari Bulbul’s visual appeal with a soft, natural aesthetic. A typeface was selected to harmonize with the icon, ensuring visual cohesion and unity. Using the symbol's color and typography, I created a consistent and clear visual identity.
